Well, as you know, CNN reported that 43 States are in dire straights as of this day 12-13-08. Governors from those states have said they are or have been cutting back or eliminating the fat from their budgets. Even doing that will not save the states. What is next? Imagine less essentials services such as Police, Fire, 911 operators. Imagine State and City Parks being shut down to cut costs. Imagine potholes so bad your car is affected just by driving it. Imagine schools being shut down and students being bussed miles away to an overcrowded understaffed school. Crime will surely rise, children will not get the education they deserve. Taxed are surely to go up.
Yes, this country as a whole is in deep financial trouble and it's getting worse everyday. I myself have lost almost half of my IRA in the last 3 months and can do nothing about it. But, we as American Citizens can do something and we as American Citizens should do something. Government clearly can not handle the situation, if they could, we would not be in this turmoil. So, my lightbulb idea is this: Let your State know you care about it, that you want and need what you've been accustomed to living there. How? Well, here's the easy part if you are willing. Send a check in the amount of anything you can, from $1.00 to whatever, to your State Capitol. Let these officials know that you care about what happens to your state. Maybe, just maybe they will become so humbled by your check, that they will also form a lightbulb in their head and fix this mess and not let it happen again.

If we can get our friends, neighbors, church and co-workers to do this we can send millions and millions of dollars to our State and it just might make a difference, it sure can't hurt. On Monday, 12-15-08 I will be sending a check for $10.00 to the State of California, what they do with it, I believe, will start something good. So, how do you feel about this?
